Approve a professional service Agreement with SHN Consulting Engineers & Geologists Inc., in the amount of $145,000, for construction materials testing and special inspection services for the SB844 Mendocino County Jail Project at 951 Low Gap Road in Ukiah; and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On February 7, 2017, Resolution 17-019 authorized the Sheriff's Office submittal of a proposal for funding through the Adult Local Criminal Justice Facilities Construction Financing Program (SB844 Chapter 34, Statutes of 2016) for additional specialty housing and expanded program, training, and mental healthcare space at the County jail and authorized an appropriation for the local match portion of the project of approximately $1.047 million. Subsequently the Board of Supervisors has approved funding increases and changes and on October 31, 2023, accepted the total project estimate of $43,999,800 and authorized contract award to Broward Builders, Inc in the amount of $35,859,000 for construction of the new jail that will serve as a behavioral health wing pending final funding approval by the California Department of Finance.
