Approve retroactive Agreement with Cal Poly Sponsored Programs Foundation in the amount of $145,360, for the Behavioral Health Mentored Internship Program, effective January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024; authorize the Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Director or designee to sign any future Amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has enacted a Behavioral Health Workforce Development (BHWD) program to address the critical shortage of Behavioral Health providers in the State. BHWD has Behavioral Health Mentored Internship Program (MIP) grant funds available to assist organizations in developing and implementing in-house mentored internship programs to assist in the treatment and recovery of patients with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, or co-occurring disorders.
