The Economic Development Division position was established by the Board of Supervisors on September 12, 2023, resolution number 23-153 and previous division report was presented to and accepted by the Board on December 5, 2023.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
This report provides a summary of the economy in Mendocino County, current initiatives, and actions taken by the Economic Development Division as guided by the Strategic Plan. The Economic Development Division has been working in three main areas of economic development: housing, workforce development, and technical assistance. Awareness of local, state and national economic conditions informs the priorities of the division. This report contains a summary of the current economic conditions including population, unemployment rates, workforce statistics, as well as division projects and initiatives including the ADU program, internship program, business technical assistance, CA Jobs First and SMEDD updates.
