Adopt Resolution pursuant to Caltrans/California Highway Patrol’s Joint Policy Guidelines for Special Events on State Conventional Highways in order to obtain a permit from Caltrans for the California Indian Days Parade in Covelo, California, on Saturday, September 26, 2026; direct the Clerk of the Board to forward copies of the Resolution to the Caltrans District Permit Coordinator (Eureka), the California Highway Patrol, and the Round Valley Tribal Council; and authorize Chair to sign same.

The Board of Supervisors has annually adopted a Resolution in support of the California Indian Days Parade.
Summary of Request:
For the past several years, the Round Valley Indian Tribes have hosted the California Indian Days celebration, which has been held in September annually since it became a recognized holiday. The Round Valley Tribal Council wishes to hold a parade in connection with the celebration. The parade will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon, commencing on Main Street and continuing on Highway 162 through the town of Covelo, ending at Hidden Oaks Park off Highway 162.
