Authorize the submittal of the SURE-UP: Strengthening, Upfitting and Resilience in Rural Law Enforcement: USDA Grant for Protection Grant application to the USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Program Grant to equip two specialized law enforcement vehicles, in an Amount not to exceed $48,000; authorize the Chief Executive Officer or designee to sign and execute the application, contract and other documents related to the grant; and authorize Chair to sign the same.

Summary of Request:
USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Program Grant provides funding for essential community facilities in rural areas. It can be used for purchasing, constructing, and improving facilities, acquiring equipment, and covering related project expenses.
The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office plans to submit the SURE-UP: Strengthening, Upfitting and Resilience in Rural Law Enforcement: USDA Grant for Protection grant application to the USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Grant Program to secure funding to equip two specialized law enforcement vehicles with advanced emergency response technology, sophisticated communication tools, and essential safety equipment. These vehicles will be strategically deployed in Redwood Valley to enhance law enforcement capabilities, improve the ability to respond effectively to emergencies, and support rural crime response initiatives.
