Recommended Action/Motion:

Accept the FY 2021-22 Mid-Year Budget Report on the status of departmental spending and revenues for FY 2021-22; approve Executive Office recommendations; approve the addition of any funded fixed assets on Attachment C, entitled, “Fiscal Year 2021-22 Mid-Year Fixed Asset Request”; adopt Resolution amending the FY 2021-22 Adopted Budget; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

The Board of Supervisors adopted the FY 2021-22 Mendocino County Budget on June 22, 2021 (Resolution 21-087) after budget hearings held on June 8-9, 2021. On November 16, 2021, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 21-178 amending the FY 2021-22 adopted Budget.                      

 

Summary of Request: 

Since FY 2016-17, the Board of Supervisors has adopted a budget in June, prior to the previous year’s books being closed. This budget was based on end of the fiscal year projections, rather than actual numbers. The Mid-Year Report includes a brief update on local economic indicators, updates from departments on budget benchmarks through the second quarter of the fiscal year (July 1 through December 31) and updates on several programs and significant budgetary considerations.
