They also provide outreach, education, and survivor’s support services to Marin, Sonoma, Lake, and Mendocino counties. In addition, they manage the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, which is a new three-digit number for mental health, substance use, and suicidal crises.
Buckelew Program delivers culturally sensitive and timely suicide prevention services through toll-free numbers and, is available to all residents of Mendocino County regardless of insurance status. They also make referrals to local providers for crisis assessments. Suicide prevention is part of the PEI section of MHSA. The services offered by Buckelew Programs are an integral part of the broader MHSA services available in Mendocino County, and the introduction of the 988 service has significantly improved access to these vital resources.
