On May 2, 2017 the Board of Supervisors directed staff to request a presentation from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) on this topic.

Summary of Request

Highway 101 north of Leggett has experienced multiple rock slide and subsequent closure events in March and April of this year due to heavy rainfall. These closure events caused significant delays in traffic and increased use of county maintained roads in the area. Dan Bornman, an Area Construction Engineer for Caltrans will provide the presentation to the Board of Supervisors.
