On June 21, 2022, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Master Position Allocation Table for the FY 2022-2023 Budget, Resolution Number 22-149.
Summary of Request:
The Human Resources Department is charged, as part of the overall maintenance of the classification and compensation plan, to evaluate current classifications, create new classifications (including appropriate salary levels), reclassify positions, examine requests for salary grade adjustments, analyze allocations, and make recommendations for additions, modifications, and corrections.
The classification of Supervising Agricultural/Measurement Standards Specialist was approved by the Civil Service Commission on March 15, 2023. The Supervising Agricultural/Measurement Standards Specialist will perform first line supervision to inspection/enforcement staff and will relieve the Ag Commissioner and/or the Assistant Ag Commissioner from the day-to-day supervision of staff to allow those individuals to perform the tasks associated with the overall management of the department, budget, programs, and activities, such as county-state grant and contract management. This position will not only allow the department to build more efficiencies and operational agility, it will also provide for more promotion opportunities within the department and grow existing employees to allow for better successional development.
The impact shown below for this fiscal year is calculated at Step 5 during pay period 09-23 (April 16, 2023) and includes the cost of benefits. The annual recurring cost shown below is calculated at Step 5 including the cost of benefits.
The County has fulfilled its obligation with the affected bargaining unit in accordance with Myers-Milias-Brown Act (MMBA).
