Summary of Request:
Mendocino County Library branches are community centers for people to access the internet, check out books, and obtain library services. With the trend of more programming taking place at all branches, there have been requests for small study spaces, or spaces to conduct online interviews or learn job skills. The California State Library is meeting this need by providing Pillar privacy booths to four of our branches worth $22,000 each with delivery, installation, and taxes at no cost to the library.
Additionally, the Library will receive fifty solar chargers that will be available for check out with a library card for charging phones and other devices. The library will also receive three toolkits which can be used for programming demonstrations or repair “cafes.” The Cultural Services Agency is requesting retroactive application submission approval and per Policy No. 25, the CEO authorized the submission.
