Summary of Request:
For the duration of the Stay-at-Home order related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the County of Mendocino is providing limited non-congregate shelter support to persons at high-risk of complications from COVID through provision of motel room stays through Project Roomkey. The Social Services Department does not currently have adequate staffing to provide on-site case management to individuals housed through Project Roomkey. Approval of the proposed Agreement will allow the Mendocino County AIDS/Viral Hepatitis Network (MCAVHN) to provide on-site case management to these individuals, thereby assisting with reducing the likelihood of community spread among this high-risk population.
MCAVHN initially had a contract totaling $35,200 to provide case management services for Project Roomkey individuals from November 1, 2020, through September 30, 2021. While drafting a new contract to start October 1, 2021, staff discovered that funds remaining in the initial contract were insufficient to cover the month of September. This necessitated a retroactive start date for the proposed Agreement.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to staff for alternative handling.
