Summary of Request

Pursuant to California Health and Safety Code § 9025 the board of trustees for a cemetery district may adopt a resolution to increase or decrease the number of members of the board of trustees. Section 9025 further provides that such a resolution must then be considered by the Board of Supervisors during public meeting and consider whether to adopt a resolution of the Board of Supervisors to increase or decrease the number of members of the board of trustees.

On August 5, 2025, the Board of Trustees of the Cemetery District of the Redwoods adopted a resolution requesting that the Board of Supervisors increase the number of trustees on the Board of Directors of the Cemetery District of the Redwoods from three (3) trustees to five (5) trustees. They feel that this would be best for the smooth operational oversight of the cemetery district.
