Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

The Board of Supervisors has received presentations from CalFire Chiefs regarding fuel reduction plans and projects. The last update on CalFire fire mitigation projects throughout the County was on April 6, 2021.

Summary of Request

Periodic updates from CalFire Chief Gunn presenting the Mendocino Unit's plans for fuel reduction projects is a benefit to the County. With another fire season quickly approaching, public awareness of CalFire's priority projects and plans are important in keeping the public informed and improve the collaboration between CalFire and the County so that projects can be expedited. A list of the priority projects to be completed this spring as well as projects planned for next year will help to keep all of us united in our goals for safer communities.
