Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
March 9, 2021, the Board of Supervisors, during the budget workshop, discussed obtaining input from Community and County Departments regarding priority projects within the County that could be funded by the one-time PG&E Disaster Settlement Funds.
May 4, 2021, Item 5(d), the Board accepted a presentation by Redwood Valley-Calpella Fire District outlining requested projects to be funded with a portion of the one-time PG&E Disaster Settlement Funds.
Summary of Request:
On May 4, 2021 the Board of Supervisors (BOS) accepted a presentation by Redwood Valley-Calpella Fire District (RVCFD) outlining requested projects to be funded with a portion of the one-time PG&E Disaster Settlement Funds including: locks for fire hydrants in the amount of $150,000, four warning sirens and poles in the amount of $135,000, and clean-up from the 2017 fire in the amount of $75,000, for a total of $360,000.
Since the initial allocation of the funds, grant Agreements for the three projects have not been executed due to RVCFD unsure about the projects. Therefore, staff is seeking BOS approval of the proposed reallocation of funds in the amount of $360,000 to purchase a light rescue unit and rescue equipment. This proposal change does not affect the BOS’s total PG&E settlement funds allocated to RVCFD.

Return to staff for alternative handling.
