On February 3, 2026 the Board adopted Resolution No. 26-011 declaring this property to be exempt surplus land.
Summary of Request:
The County has ownership of property consisting of approximately 0.24 acres, with buildings of approximately 1,286 square feet in Covelo. These buildings previously served as the Round Valley Justice Court, Sheriff’s sub-station, a jail building, shed and pump house. Beginning in 2006 the County allowed these buildings to be occupied and maintained by the Covelo Community Services District (CCSD) and the Round Valley County Water District. To reduce the physical footprint of real estate owned, the Board of Supervisors has identified this property as excess to County operational needs and declared it to be exempt surplus based on the CCSD’s desires to own this property for their continued use. The CCSD held a meeting on June 25 and approved this transfer agreement.
