Summary of Request:
Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement Number (No.) 260003 provides for professional engineering design services for a Storm Drainage Vulnerability Analysis and Climate Adaptation Plan. This project will conduct a vulnerability analysis of the storm drainage system running under County maintained roads for impacts due to climate change in five areas within the County that are currently experiencing flooding, including Irish Beach, Old Hopland, Talmage, Northern Ukiah, and West Road in Redwood Valley. GHD Inc. has agreed to perform the required work for a not-to-exceed amount of $460,000. The project is primarily funded through the Caltrans Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant (STPG) Program, Climate Adaptation Planning grant, with the local match covered by the Road Fund. DOT requests the Board approve DOT Agreement No. 260003 with GHD, Inc. in the amount of $460,000. Because additional studies or field investigations are often identified during design, DOT deems it prudent to authorize the Director of Transportation a 10% contingency of $46,000 to process contract amendments as needed in order to facilitate timely completion of the work.

Postpone approval of DOT Agreement No. 260003
