Summary of Request:
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) provides funds to the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program of the Mendocino County Department of Public Health, to support pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women and their children. These funds enable the WIC program to provide services to help mothers and young children stay healthy. Specifically, qualifying WIC participants are eligible to receive nutrition education, vouchers for nutritious foods, breastfeeding support, and referrals to medical providers and community services. WIC provides these supportive services at nine locations throughout the County
Mendocino County Public Health received the proposed Agreement No. 25-10183 from California Department of Public Health with Women, Infants and Children designating funding amount of $3,835,719 to support essential WIC Program services across Mendocino County for a three-year term, Effective October 1,2025, through September 30,2028
