Summary of Request

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) funds Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health

(MCAH) programs of the Mendocino County Department of Public Health (MCPH) to include MCAH Local, California Home Visting Program Expansion Program (CHVP EBHV), which support services to help parents and young children. Specifically, qualifying MCAH mother participants are eligible to receive nutrition education, preventing pre-term births, increasing breastfeeding support, and referrals to medical providers, medical and mental health services providers, and community services and resources. MCAH provides these supportive services through Community Health Workers who do in-person home visits throughout Mendocino County.

On April 10, 2026, MCPH received an AFA announcement letter for the proposed Agreement No. 202623 from CDPH designating MCAH funding for fiscal years 2026 through 2029, for a total of $1,738,905. On May 29, 2026, MCPH submitted the AFA. Funding from this proposed Agreement is to support essential MCAH program services across Mendocino County for a three-year term, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029.

We are seeking retroactive approval for the submission of the AFA and the proposed resulting revenue Agreement No. 202623 with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) program.
