Summary of Request

Mendocino County Public Health (MCPH) is currently using Data Strategy Consulting, an epidemiological firm, to provide data that supports and advances MCPH’s ability to perform its assessment function through public health surveillance and investigation of health issues and root causes. The data is used to monitor health programs and ensure they target the needs of communities, provide intelligence related to diseases and conditions monitored by the CDC and CDPH, and utilized by grant-funded programs to apply for grants and for required grant reporting.

Data Strategy Consulting will continue to develop and implement the public health surveillance plan collaboratively with MCPH. They will monitor the public health surveillance plan to ensure implementation meets the evolving needs, standards, and expectations of MCPH and work with MCPH on other requests as needed.

The proposed amendment will fund continued Data Strategy Consulting’s epidemiological work uninterrupted through June 30, 2025.
