Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
By Resolution Number (No.) 18-203 (December 18, 2018), the Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement No. 180027 with Mark Thomas and Company, for the plans, specifications, and estimate bid package for the seismic retrofit of Eureka Hill Road Bridge over Garcia River. By Resolution No. 21-049 (April 6, 2021), the BOS authorized the Director of Transportation to advertise for bids and award DOT Contract No. 210021 for constructing the seismic retrofit of the Eureka Hill Road Bridge over the Garcia River. By Resolution No. 23-129 (July 11, 2023), the BOS approved Contract Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $1,044,237.08 to DOT Contract No. 210021 to complete the seismic retrofit of the Eureka Hill Road Bridge over Garcia River.
Summary of Request:
DOT Agreement No. 220024 provides for five years for vegetation replacement, erosion control measures, monitoring, and maintenance for compliance with the North Coast Regin Quality Control Board’s 401 permit. Jacobzoon & Associates, Inc. responded to the proposal request and was rated most qualified to do the work. The negotiated “not-to-exceed” price is $169,039.76 with a contingency of $17,000 for additional tasks that may arise during the five years. The work is to be funded primarily through the Federal Highway Association (FHWA) Highway Bridge Program (HBP) with the local match covered through the Local Seismic Safety Retrofit Program (LSSRP).
