The Art in the Redwoods Festival has been held annually for many years and was last approved by the Board in July 21, 2015.
Summary of Request:
Pursuant to Mendocino County Code 6.16 approve the application for the Art in the Redwoods Festival, sponsored by Gualala Arts, Inc., a non-profit organization, to be held August 11-14, 2016, and authorize the Tax Collector to issue an Outdoor Festival license. The Art in the Redwoods Festival offers fine art exhibits, artist’s booths, food vendors and entertainment including live music. The event will held at the Gualala Redwoods Inc., property located at 46501 Gualala, Rd., Gualala. The number of attendees varies per day with the maximum attendees estimated at 1,000 on Saturday August 13, 2016. Attached please find the Accessory Use Determination from Mendocino County Planning and Building Services.
The Tax Collector has compiled the information required to be submitted with the application, attached to the agenda for reference, and after finding it to be complete, submits the application to the Board for approval pursuant to section 6.16.040 of the Mendocino County code. The attached documentation contains: written consent from property owners for the proposed use; proof of ownership of property where the festival will be held; a statement from the Sheriff attesting to the adequacy of proposed security; a statement from the County Health Officer attesting to the adequacy of proposed sanitation, food preparation and handling, and waste disposal; and further, documentation required with the application.
