Approve Agreement with Chabot-Las Positas Community College District in the amount of $1,500,000 to provide training for foster care providers, group home staff, and County staff serving Mendocino County’s Title IV-E federally eligible children, effective upon signing through June 30, 2019; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Director or designee to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Summary of Request:
Chabot-Las Positas Community College District provides trainings for foster care providers, group home staff, adoptive parents, service providers, and Health and Human Services Agency, Family and Children’s Services staff and contractors serving Federal Title IV-E eligible children (who are in, or at risk of entering, the child welfare system) and their families. Training topics include Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), Signs of Safety (SOS), foster parent training, and other eligible trainings within Title IV-E Regulations. This Agreement utilizes funds from the State with matching percentages from both Chabot and Title IV-E Federal funds. The resulting training will in turn support building comprehensive and consistent skills throughout our community to better support families and caregivers in raising healthy, happy, productive children.
