Summary of Request

In 1996, a group of volunteers in New Jersey started National Child Care Provider Day, a special day set aside to recognize child care providers, teachers and other educators of young children everywhere. National Child Care Provider Day is celebrated each year on the Friday before Mother’s Day.

To recognize the tireless efforts of providers who care for children of working parents in Mendocino County, the Local Child Care Development and Planning Council asks the Board of Supervisors to designate May 2024 as Child Care Provider Appreciation Month.
