Summary of Request

The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors is being asked to adopt a proclamation recognizing the 50th anniversary of the Mendocino Theatre Company and declaring May 20, 2026 as Mendocino Theatre Company Day.

 

Founded in 1976, the Mendocino Theatre Company has provided five decades of live theatre to the coastal community and its visitors, supported by the contributions of artists, volunteers, and community members. The proclamation recognizes the organization’s longstanding role in the cultural life of Mendocino County and acknowledges those who have supported its operations and artistic mission.

Adoption of the proclamation is ceremonial in nature and does not have fiscal impact.
