Summary of Request:
On May 9, 2023, the Board of Supervisors’ authorized the Mental Health Treatment Act Citizen’s Oversight Committee and Behavioral Health Director to bring the results of the Substance Use Services RFP back to the Board for discussion on the recommended proposal(s).
On October 17, 2023, the results of the Substance Use Services Request for Proposal #018-23 for Innovative Continuum of Care Programs for youth and/or adults to help clients achieve and maintain sobriety were brought to the Board for further direction. The Board formed an Ad Hoc Committee consisting of Supervisors Haschak and Mulheren to review and return information to the full board regarding the RFP Proposal from Ford Street Projects, the Mental Health Treatment Act (Measure B) Budget and available funds, and potential funding for the Behavioral Health Treatment Wing of the Jail to return with a report out on October 31, 2023.
Additional direction that the proposal, if recommended to negotiate a contract would include stipulations that all Mendocino County Residents would be able to be served. The Ad Hoc was requested to report the results of discussion for further Board direction. The Ad Hoc Committee met on 10/23/23 with representatives of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, the Acting Auditor Controller, and the Mendocino County Sheriff to discuss additional details and budget information regarding the RFP Proposal, the Measure B Budget, and the Jail Behavioral Health treatment wing.
