Summary of Request

The County of Mendocino has been awarded the Wildfire Community Resilience Project (Project) funding through FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities Program (BRIC) grant program to increase fire resiliency including providing home hardening, defensible space and hazardous fuels reduction in the Brooktrails Township, Sylvandale, Spring Creek and the Gates, the more densely populated neighborhoods on the Sherwood Corridor in Willits, CA.

This contract is for Owl Check to serve as the project manager who will deliver all project planning and implementation activities, and work in close coordination with County staff through the project performance period.

The County issued Request for Proposal 023-26 and Owl Check was the selected vendor. This project was suspended pending federal court determining that termination of the program was unlawful. As a result, the project is behind schedule. This contract is retroactive to allow the contractor sufficient time to complete all project deliverables on time.
