Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

On January 26, 2021 the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 21-012 authorizing the CEO/Director of Emergency Services, and/or the Undersheriff to execute for, and on behalf of, Mendocino County any actions necessary for the administration of the State Homeland Security Grant Program (FY20, FY21, FY22) the Emergency Management Performance Grant (FY20, FY21, FY22) and the Emergency Management Performance Grant Supplemental (FY20).

Summary of Request

The Homeland Security Grant is awarded on an annual basis. Expenditures under the grant must promote public safety and will be used by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office for SWAT operations, emergency response purposes and other situations that endanger public safety. The grant requires that 30% of the award go towards law enforcement terrorism prevention activities and this purchase will fulfill a portion of that requirement.
