Approve request for appropriations form to increase line-item BG-862130 Maint-Strc Improv & GRN for Fiscal Year 2024-25 in the amount of $7,945 for the purchase and installation of utility sub meters for gas and electric provided utility services for County building 62 at 474 E. Valley St, Willits, CA; the expense will be offset by rental revenue received from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire); and authorize Chair to sign same.

Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
The Board of Supervisors approved the Lease Amendment for the use of 474 E. Valley St, Willits for use as office space by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) effective November 6, 2024.
Summary of Request:
Facilities and Fleet is working with the current lease of 474 E. Valley St, Willits (Mendocino County Building 62) Cal Fire to establish a method for tracking and recovering costs for utility usage for the building. Cal Fire is currently the sole tenant of Mendocino County Building 62, and in accordance with the current lease agreement is responsible for the payment of building utilities used at this location.
The current utility gas and electric supply for Mendocino County Building 62 are supplied from the same services to 472 E. Valley St, Willits (Mendocino County Building 61). Facilities and Fleet is working with a contractor to install both a gas and electric submeter for Mendocino County Building 62 so that utility usage of the tenant Cal Fire can be tracked and costs recovered.

Do not approve the appropriation of funds, provide direction to staff.
