Summary of Request:
Redwood Community Services, Inc. (RCS) provides Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS) and Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) programs to Mendocino County youth (0-18), transitional age youth (19-24), and adults (25+) residents in Ukiah, Willits, and Fort Bragg within the schools, community, and office.
On July 11, 2023, the County of Mendocino Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved Agreement No. BOS-23-126 through which RCS provides Assessment, Plan Development, Collateral, Therapy, Rehabilitation, Targeted Case Management, Intensive Care Coordination, Intensive Home-Based Services, Therapeutic Behavioral Services, and Therapeutic Foster Care. RCS serves up to 300 youth (0-18), 150 transitional age youth (19-24), and 300 adult beneficiaries, and provides 900 crisis services under SMHS. MHSA programs provided by RCS include Integrated Care Coordination for beneficiaries through the Wellness and Recovery Center, Crisis support and follow up services for Medi-Cal and indigent clients, Supported Housing Services, Full Service Partnerships, and Behavioral Health Court to better serve consumers with severe mental illnesses and severe emotional disturbances. RCS serves up to 350 individuals through the Arbor program, 24 individuals through Transitional Age Youth Housing, and 300 individuals through Crisis Services under MHSA.
On May 21, 2024, the BOS approved first Amendment No. BOS-23-126-A1 to increase the total amount to $11,574,365 due to payment reform and an increase in the number of clients served. The proposed Second Amendment extends the Agreement end date to September 30, 2024, increases the number of clients RCS will serve by 20%, and increases the total amount by $2,773,698 for a new total of $14,348,063. The proposed Second Amendment will allow RCS to continue providing SMHS in Mendocino County while Behavioral Health and Recovery Services issues a new Request for Proposal. Once the proposed Second Amendment is executed, it will be effective for the full term of the Agreement from July 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.
