Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On January 8, 2019, the Board accepted the Director of Transportation’s Report, which included a 20-Year Maintenance Plan for the County’s Road System utilizing Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) funds. This plan prioritized corrective and preventative maintenance in certain areas of the County each year. We are currently in Year 7 of this plan.
Summary of Request:
The Department of Transportation will prepare and administer construction plans, specifications, estimates and contract documents for Contract Number (No.) 250002 for the 2025 Corrective/Preventative Maintenance Project on various County Maintained Roads in the Hopland area at an estimated cost of $6,500,000, depending on available funds. This project will preserve up to 14.11 miles of road surfaces within the Mendocino County Maintained Road System, at an estimated average cost of $460,665 per mile when completed. The County roads are: Mountain House Road, County Road (CR) 111, from milepost (M.P.) 0.00 - 6.32 +/-, 6.32 to M.P. 9.32; Feliz Creek Road, CR 109, from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 3.43; Old Hopland Yorkville Road, CR 110, from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 3.60; McDowell Street, CR 115E, from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 0.20; Sanel Street, CR 115B, from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 0.10; Harrison Street, CR 115A, from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 0.19; Howell Street, CR 115F, from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 0.04; Knox Street, CR 115D, from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 0.04; First Street, CR 115C, M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 0.06; East Side Rancheria Road, CR 105, from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 0.85; Old Toll Road, CR 108, from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 2.60; and La Franchi Road, CR 113, from M.P. 0.00 to 0.27. This project is to be funded through Senate Bill 1 (SB 1): The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, and RMRA funds. The Department will not exceed funding available.
