Summary of Request:
Nuestra Alianza de Willits provides important services for the Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) subsection of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). Through the proposed Agreement, Nuestra Alianza de Willits will provide valuable outreach to underserved populations, specifically the Spanish speaking population in and around Willits, to access mental health care. Nuestra Alianza de Willits helps people navigate the mental illness system of care, helps Spanish speakers access assessments, and refers individuals to other providers when necessary. Additionally, Nuestra Alianza de Willits offers a range of other wellness activities such as tax preparation and navigation for public benefits programs, while providing important mental health check ups to an underserved community at times of high stress. These services are sometimes the only accessible link to mental health services for this specific population due to geographic isolation and cultural barriers of the underserved community. Services under the proposed Agreement are provided through MHSA and are part of the regulatorily required programs that all counties must provide with MHSA funds. Services provided by Nuestra Alianza de Willits, in conjunction with other MHSA providers, create a network of mental health service throughout Mendocino County.
Nuestra Alianza de Willits’ MHSA PEI Program Summary for Fiscal Year 2022-2023:
Individuals Served: 998
Services Provided: 5034
Cost Per Client: $48
The process of acquiring the provider signatures took longer than expected and we were unable to meet the Board of Supervisors deadlines for a June meeting. Additionally, this contract is retroactive for 8 days, and no invoices shall be authorized pending approval of amendment for services from July 1 2024 to June 30, 2025.
