Summary of Request

Senate Bill 129 (Stats. 2021, ch. 69) amended the Budget Act of 2021, provides funding for “the implementation and operation of ongoing court programs and practices that promote the safe, efficient, fair, and timely pretrial release of individuals booked into jail.”  As a result of this legislation and the funding provided by the State to the Court, Mendocino County entered into an MOU with the Court which allocates 100% of the funding to Mendocino County Probation to administer the Pretrial Release Program for Mendocino County.

Mendocino County’s Pretrial Release Program became operational on June 30, 2022.  This presentation provides information and data for the operation of the program for Fiscal Year 2023-24.
