Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On June 24, 2025, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Master Position Allocation Table for the FY 2025-2026 Budget, Resolution Number 25-111.
Summary of Request:
The Human Resources Department is charged, as part of the overall maintenance of the classification and compensation plan, to evaluate current classifications, create new classifications (including appropriate salary levels), reclassify positions, examine requests for salary grade adjustments, analyze allocations, and make recommendations for additions, modifications, and corrections.
On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the County Librarian and Administrative Services Manager II presented the Library Department’s Strategic Hiring Plan to the Board of Supervisors. This plan follows the recent re-organization of the library which was completed earlier this year. The presentation outlined the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen operations, improve service delivery, and align staffing resources with current and future community needs.
Following the presentation, the Board approved the library’s staffing proposal, authorizing the requested additional positions of Bookmobile Driver II, Administrative Services Manager I, Library Branch Manager - MLS, and the deletion of position numbers 4780 and 4689, Senior Library Technician and position number 3617, Library Technician from the existing Position Allocation Table.
The impact below for this fiscal year is calculated at fulltime at step 5 and includes the cost of benefits. The recurring cost shown below is calculated at fulltime at step 5, including the cost of benefits.
