Summary of Request:
Mendocino County’s Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer of Weights & Measures (Ag Commissioner) position is currently vacant. On October 18, 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved Agreement No. 22-254 to allow Sonoma County’s Ag Commissioner to fulfill the local Ag Commissioner’s duties on an interim basis. After the initial six-month term, the Agreement was amended by the Chief Executive Officer (as delegated by the Board) to extend the end date for an additional six months through October 18, 2023. This item requests an increase of $30,000 to the Agreement, $80,000 total, and an additional extension through December 31, 2023, to allow Sonoma County’s Ag Commissioner to continue providing services.
