Summary of Request:
With state Expanded Subsidized Employment funding, Mendocino County was able to contract with Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center for CalWORKs Job Services customers. Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center offers subsidized employment with the chance of permanent hire in their workforce. Each participant has the opportunity to upgrade his/her work skills while functioning as a paid employee. Contracted services include development of a curriculum to help participants build job skills and maintain accountability, development of a training plan, coordination of said plan, and monitoring of subsidized employees’ participation. This amendment will allow payment of residual costs for increased staffing and employment for Fiscal Year 2015-16; the 2015-16 contract expired before an amendment could be put in place.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to staff for alternative handling.
