Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
The Board routinely creates ad hocs to work on projects that are limited in scope of time and subject.
Summary of Request:
With the development of the new Ukiah Courthouse, there is an opportunity to improve coordination, accessibility and efficiency of justice and related public services by co-locating key departments within proximity of the Perkins and Clay Street facility. Additionally, the potential relocation of the Ukiah Branch Library to this area could contribute to a centralized civic campus that better serves the public.
This ad hoc committee will collaborate with County staff to identify feasible options, assess space needs, consider cost implications, and explore funding opportunities. The committee will also evaluate long-term options for the existing courthouse property on State Street, with consideration given to community benefit, historical value and potential redevelopment.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Deny request to form ad hoc and provide alternate action
