Last action on July 7, 2015, Item No. 4(o), BOS Agreement No. 15-066.
Summary of Request:
Recently, the California Transportation Commission approved an extension of the Active Transportation Program grant; Mendocino Council of Governments requests this retroactive amendment to extend the end date of the subcontract to match that of the State’s grant.
Health and Human Services Agency, Public Health, Community, Health, Education and Engagement unit provides professional services, tasks and products (including curricula, procedures, presentations and other safety related items created or purchased in collaboration with project partners) to reduce childhood obesity by increasing both the safety for, and the number of, students who walk and bike to and from school in communities throughout Mendocino County. Services include: developing policy for safer routes; assessment of school routes through PhotoVoice projects; school-based safety education; school activities/events such as Walking School Buses and bicycle clubs; and sustainability planning.
These services were provided as part of implementing a Safe Routes to Schools Non-Infrastructure project funded by Mendocino Council of Governments’ Active Transportation Grants. This extension completes the project and provides necessary reporting.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to staff for alternative handling.
