Summary of Request:
Supervisors Hamburg and McCowen are requesting that they be formally appointed to a Mental Health Initiative Ad Hoc Committee. Supervisors Hamburg and McCowen were included by invitation in a meeting held June 19, 2017, to discuss the possibility of a revised Mental Health initiative that would go before the voters this November. State law authorizes the Board of Supervisors to put initiative measures directly on the ballot for a vote of the people. In order to comply with State election deadlines, Supervisors Hamburg and McCowen anticipate returning to the Board very shortly with a recommendation on the inclusion of a Mental Health initiative measure on this November’s ballot.

Do not appoint a Mental Health Initiative Ad Hoc Committee and provide other direction to staff.
