Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

On August 17, 2021, the Board of Supervisors directed staff to work on the next steps after directing that the Wildlife Services Agreement with the United States Department of Agriculture would be terminated.                      

 

Summary of Request

Department of Agriculture and Animal Care Services have been collaborating on the development of a wildlife exclusionary program and will present an update on the progress.  Staff recommendations for next steps include monthly meetings between Agriculture and Animal Care Services (and the UC Cooperative Extension as needed), uniformly collecting metrics on calls for service to further scope program needs, providing education and outreach to industry and public stakeholders, and providing the Board with another update in 6 months.
