On June 20, 2023, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Master Position Allocation Table for the FY 2023-2024 Budget, Resolution Number 23-109.
Summary of Request:
The Human Resources Department is charged, as part of the overall maintenance of the classification and compensation plan, to evaluate current classifications, create new classifications (including appropriate salary levels), reclassify positions, examine requests for salary grade adjustments, analyze allocations, and make recommendations for additions, modifications, and corrections.
The Bookmobile provides vital library services to our community members who don't live near a library branch. Residents of all ages use the Bookmobile: the elderly who are unable to drive long distances, those who are unable to make frequent trips to town due to time constraints, children who come with their parents or caregivers, schools who bring their classes for materials, story times, and additional programming, and other rural residents of the county. Many low-income people struggle to find reliable transportation, and the Bookmobile is a lifeline regarding access to information, culture, and knowledge. It also serves taxpayers in Mendocino County who would not have access to a library without it, including areas such as Hopland, Albion, and Anderson Valley.
In addition to regular library skills, the Bookmobile Driver is a specialized position. They are required to have a Commercial Class B license with air brake certification. A salary increase is necessary to come to parity with similar jobs requiring the same qualifications.
The impact shown below for this fiscal year is calculated at Step 5 during pay period 01-24 (December 24, 2023) and includes the cost of benefits. The annual recurring cost shown below is calculated at Step 5 including the cost of benefits.
