In January 2019 the Board appointed Supervisor Carre Brown as Director and Supervisor John McCowen as Alternate Director.
Summary of Request:
The County of Mendocino is a member of the Ukiah Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency (UVBGSA). As a Member of the UVBGSA the Board is required to appoint a Director and Alternate Director to serve a term of two years from 2021-2022. The current board member seats for Director and Alternate Director were confirmed in February of 2019.
The Appointment Process is defined in the UVBGSA JPA section 7.3.1. Member Directors: Each Member Director must sit on the governing board of the Member and be appointed by that governing board by Resolution, which Resolution shall be transmitted to the Secretary of the Agency following adoption by the Member.
The Water Agency recommends District 1 and 2 Supervisors sit on the Board because their district overlay the Ukiah Basin. The Resolution before you appoints Supervisor Glenn McGourty as Director and Supervisor Maureen Mulheren as Alternate Director.
