The Economic Development Division position was established by the Board of Supervisors on September 12, 2023, resolution number 24-0279 and previous division reports were presented to and accepted by the Board on October 8th, 2024, May 21, 2024, and February 27, 2024.
Summary of Request:
This report provides a summary of national and state economic indicators, detailed economic data for Mendocino County, current initiatives and actions taken by the Economic Development Division staff as guided by the Strategic Plan. It includes data on economic conditions, including unemployment rates, median home prices, median household income, labor market and industry statistics. The Economic Development Division works in three main areas of development: workforce development, business retention and technical assistance, and housing. This report provides updates on staff activity including pending grant applications, an economic development by industry initiative, CDBG Micro-Enterprise TA Grant Management and in-kind hours to support the Sonoma Mendocino Economic Development District (SMEDD).
