Summary of Request

Library branches serve the community by providing a place to check out library materials, attend educational workshops and community meetings, and to relax and read a book. Library branches also regularly experience unacceptable behavior demonstrated by the number of incident reports, calls to law enforcement, and the need for a Security Officer.

Since the Library is no longer a part of the Cultural Services Agency, its policies are being reviewed and reworded. The Standards of Behavior helps to define what is acceptable behavior and outlines the consequences of not following the standards. The policy has been reviewed by County Counsel and helps the County to move towards the Strategic Plan Designation of a Safe and Healthy County.
