Recommended Action/Motion:
recommendation
Form an Ad Hoc Committee to perform an inspection of completed street improvements of the Feed Lot Lane Buildout, extending the existing Feed Lot Lane (County Road 250B) approximately 361 feet East to Lovers Lane (County Road 222), for inclusion into County maintenance, and report their findings and recommendations to the Board (Ukiah Area); and, by order of the Chair, appoint two Supervisors from Districts other than District 5 to serve on the Committee.

Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
None.
Summary of Request:
New apartments, called Millview Apartments, were recently completed at the intersection of Lovers Lane and Feed Lot Lane in Ukiah. The portion of Feed Lot Lane (County Road (CR) 250B) from Millview Road (CR 106) east to Lovers Lane is privately owned while the portion of Feed Lot Lane from Millview Road west to North Bush Street (CR 250C) is County owned. This private portion of Feed Lot Lane is valuable for circulation in this area of Ukiah and the developer improved this section of road to County standards. The developer wants to dedicate the road to the County. Acceptance will occur by future action of the Board. County Code Section 17-78(B) requires that, before subdivision streets can be accepted into the County Maintained Road System, the street improvements be inspected by the County Engineer (or his designee) and two members of the Board of Supervisors, appointed by the Chair. This committee is to report back to the full Board in writing with findings and recommendations with respect to the acceptance of the roadway improvements. The two appointed Board members must be from districts other than that in which the subdivision lies, Supervisorial District Number 5, in this case. Appointment of Board members to perform the inspection is now in order, and Department of Transportation hereby requests such appointment by the Chairman. The inspection can be scheduled at the convenience of the appointed members.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Do not appoint Board members to an Ad Hoc Committee, and provide direction to staff.
