Approve Agreement with Redwood Toxicology, Inc., aka Redwood Biotech, in the amount of $80,000 to provide drug testing supplies and laboratory services for Health and Human Services Agency, Family and Children’s Services clients for the period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019; authorize Health and Human Services Agency Director or designee to sign future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Summary of Request:
Redwood Toxicology Laboratory provides all drug/alcohol testing devices, and all specimen testing, for individuals who are required to drug test for Family and Children’s Services, either as part of investigations regarding child abuse or neglect, or as part of a client’s case plan to determine if drugs and/or alcohol are being used.
Redwood Toxicology Laboratory, one of the nation’s largest drug and alcohol testing laboratories, is the government services division of Alere Toxicology. They are able to provide rapid and reliable results which impacts social worker and court decisions about children’s safety in homes with parents who are testing positive for drugs and/or alcohol.
