Summary of Request

Manzanita Services, Inc. is the only agency in inland Mendocino County operating Mental Health Wellness Centers that provide specialized services for individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI). Through the proposed contract, Manzanita will work closely with other local agencies, including the Building Bridges program operated by Redwood Community Services, to engage individuals who have barriers to treatment for their SMI. These services include housing support services, such as rental assistance and housing relocation and stabilization services for individuals experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness, and additional supports, such as education, counseling, and linkage to treatment services to support ongoing engagement in healthcare.

Approval of the proposed Agreement will support services specifically provided in connection with Manzanita’s SMI Wellness Centers in Ukiah and Willits. By executing this Agreement, the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is providing short-term funding to maintain treatment services in the community while the County and the Mendocino County Homeless Services Continuum of Care develop a new collaborative strategic plan to address homelessness.

HHSA requests retroactive approval of this Agreement due to staff changes within the Agency, which delayed the contracting process.
