Adopt Resolution ratifying Ordinance 18-2 of the Little Lake Fire Protection District providing for the public health, safety and welfare, by prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire, hazardous materials, or explosion, adopting, by reference, the California Fire Code, 2016 Edition, its appendices and amendments thereto, as a primary code, and adopting the latest edition of the national fire codes of the National Fire Protection Association as secondary codes and standards as guidelines, specifically repealing LLFPD Ordinance 10-1 and all other Ordinances in conflict; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Summary of Request

The Little Lake Fire District has complied with Health and Safety Code section 13869.7(c) by transmitting the adopted ordinance to the County which provides for more stringent building standards than those adopted by the State Fire Marshal and contained in the California Building Standards Code. No ordinance adopted by a district shall be effective until ratification by the County where the ordinance will apply. Upon ratification of an adopted ordinance, the County shall file a copy of the findings of the District, and any findings of the County, together with the adopted ordinance expressly marked and identified to which each finding refers, with the Department of Housing and Community Development and delegate the enforcement of the ordinance to the chief of the fire protection district that adopted the ordinance, or his or her authorized representative.
