Summary of Request

The proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will enable the Sheriff’s Office to provide security coverage for members of Congress during Congressional events, upon request by the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) and approval by the Sheriff. Following each event, the Sheriff’s Office will document staff time and bill the USCP for actual hours at established weighted rates. This partnership ensures coordinated law enforcement presence, enhances public safety, and provides full cost recovery to the County.
