Approve Agreement with Kirk Gorman, Attorney at Law, in the amount of $468,000 to provide part-time Child Support Attorney Services from effective date through June 30, 2028; authorize the Child Support Services Director to sign any future amendments that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Summary of Request:
Child Support Services requests approval of the Agreement with Kirk Gorman, Attorney at Law to provide professional child support attorney services between July 2026 and June 2028, with the option to extend the agreement for one additional year. Mr. Gorman is a subject matter expert in child support attorney work and will serve as the department’s attorney of record in all matters filed in the relation to establishment, enforcement, or modification of family support orders. Based upon current caseload, the professional legal work can be completed within 10 to 15 hours per week.
Mendocino County Child Support Services is funded by federal and state child support revenue. There is no cost to the Mendocino County General Fund.
