Summary of Request

The Strategic Growth Council (SGC) Regional Climate Collaboratives (RCC) Program is a capacity-building program intended to deepen relationships and strengthen local coordination, leadership, knowledge, skills, and access to critical resources to drive and sustain climate action. Through the establishment of a regional Mendocino County climate collaborative, the County seeks to develop informational resources, facilitate collaboration and coordination, and provide technical assistance to local agencies as required by the program.

The Climate Collaborative will serve as liaison to the greater community and invite the public to participate in structured coordination and meetings; the collection of valuable local information and other data; decision making on planning processes and projects; development of new climate actions; reviewing and commenting on draft documents and project concepts; and providing general input.

Developing a collaborative under this focus will further these goals on a broad level and formalize much of the collaboration and coordination with other jurisdictions, agencies, and non-governmental organizations already occurring within the County. The proposed RCC will provide the necessary framework to facilitate climate projects and programming throughout Mendocino County.
